So excited to music direct Tony Award nominee De'Adre Aziza (Passing Strange) in a reading of Ricardo Pérez González's new play with music Separate & Equal at the Public Theater. It'll be fun to be back behind the piano again...for now. :)
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!
This year I'm spending my Valentine's Day Weekend reading for a sweet and romantic piece of new musical theater called Cover (formerly Unlucky in Love) by composer Bobby Cronin and playwright Crystal Skillman. I've had a great time watching this piece evolve and can't wait to hear the latest draft out loud!
IN FIELDS WHERE THEY LAY
I'm excited to join the ensemble of Dreamscape Theatre's production of Ricardo Perez Gonzalez's play In Fields Where They Lay, directed by Brad Raimondo with music direction by Anna Ebbesen. The show runs through December at the New Ohio Theatre in the West Village. You can get your tickets at Dreamscape Theatre's website here.
SONGS OF LOSS AND LOVE
At the end of October, I'll be revisiting Tom Wallace and Terry Quinn's theatrical song cycle Songs of Loss and Love with Elisabeth Halliday (Rhymes with Opera) and Joseph Mace under the direction of Matt Castle (music director: Into the Woods, Fiasco Theatre/OB). Pictured from left are Joe, Me and Elisabeth rehearsing "A Promise Not to Tell" from the cycle.
FLAK HOUSE
Flak House, the new musical I am music directing, will open at the Actor's Temple on October 21. Click here to read more and get your tickets. Pictured from left are cast members Jordan Sangalang, Hallie Wage, Jeremiah Stanfield, Nancy Ellen Reinstein, Amar Biamonte, Sean Geoghan, Stefanie Londino and Travis James.
THE CHARM
I wrapped up my summer with one last musical reading. Pictured from left are the cast and creative team of the hilarious one-act The Charm: Aaron Phillips, lyricist Christiana Cole, composer David Shenton, director Donald Garverick, Ryan Kinsella, Erin Shields and Me with Annie co-creator Martin Charnin!
